Surf Classifieds Wetsuits

When it comes to the wetsuit we have a lot to thank World War II for. The conflict-inspired research and development into plastics and rubber led to the eventual development of neoprene. Hugh Bradner’s prototype testing of these new, neoprene suits amongst the U.S navy gave birth to the warm, tactile and mobile second skin layers we wear in the water today. It was Jack O’Neill who commercialised Bradner’s work and made a brand out of it and thank goodness. The wetsuit has allowed surfers to pretty much practise their passion in all weathers and all year round.
